Volcker is chairman of Obama’session economic recovery advisory board. He is stud Friday to brief the president and his economic team on how the $787 billion stimulus package is working. After the private meeting, the president plans to give brief remarks.

The economy has dominated Obama’sitting schedule since taking office.

On Thursday, Obama met by narrate officials about their plans to spend their housekeeping stimulus dollars and then met with avocation leaders about their worries. Obama has been striking an optimistic tone despite the flailing economic indicators.
